Friends of Hylands House Tour Guides

The Open Estate Sundays at Hylands are going from strength to strength and continue to improve and grow in popularity. Having in person guided historical tours have proven to be a hit but, as the years went by, Edd, one of the Assistant Managers, became the only staff member left who could do them. He reached out to our members to see if anyone would like to train up to become a Volunteer Tour Guide that could run the tour once a month on the Open Estate Sunday. With help from Nick Wickenden, the former Chelmsford Museum Manager and author of the Hylands souvenir book, a group of members have been trained up and are now successfully running tours.
