One of the Hylands House owners Cornelius Kortright 1797-1814
The 2¼ “ oval miniature was painted by the highly regarded miniaturist painter Andrew Plimer. We purchased at Sotheby’s New Bond Street auction June 2007. It is of Dutch origin and owner of several estates in the West Indies. Kortright was responsible for transforming the Hylands Estate by employing the famous landscape architect Humphry Repton.
