The most recent notable project of The Friends of Hylands House was the careful and loving restoration of the Hanbury Memorial Garden. The reinstated garden was officially re-opened on 1st July 2021 by the Mayor of Chelmsford, Councillor Jude Deakin, who expressed "great thanks to the Friends of Hylands House for financing the project and making it possible"
